Diane Chase is the author the Adirondack family activity guidebook Adirondack Family Time Tri-Lakes and High Peaks: Your Four-Season Guide to Over 300 Activities (with GPS coordinates). Covering the towns of Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, Jay/Upper Jay, Keene/Keene Valley and Wilmington, this comprehensive guide lists over 33 mini-hikes, 19 swimming holes, 26 historic sites, seasonal events and activities, performing arts centers, trivia and more. This guidebook is the first in a four-book series of family activities for the Adirondack Park published by Hungry Bear Publishing.
Diane is currently working on the next three Adirondack Family Time books, which blanket the Adirondack Coast region from Plattsburgh to Ticonderoga, the Central Adirondacks from Long Lake to Old Forge and the Southern Adirondacks from North Creek to Lake George.
Diane is first and foremost the mother of two young children seeking and writing about ways to foster imaginative play through fun-filled events and activities. She hopes to help other families build confidence in a natural environment.
Diane has over 25 years of marketing and writing experience ranging from grant research to newspaper reporting. She writes a weekly “Family Time” newspaper column for the Adirondack Daily Enterprise and blogs about family activities for LakePlacid.com, Adirondack Almanack and AdkFamilytime.com. She has written for newspapers, magazines, marketing and advertising agencies. She has worked for the NYT Magazine Group, Miller Sports Group and Bonnier Corp. with Cruising World and Sailing World magazines. |
