ADIRONDACK MUSIC CDs

Hungry Bear Publishing distributes CDs of music from the Adirondack North Country region. We represent the following artists:

DAN BERGGREN
Musician, Ballston Spa, N.Y.

Dan Berggren has been collecting, writing and singing folk music of the Adirondacks for the past 30 years. He grew up in the mountains on the land farmed by his mother's family and worked in the woods on a forest ranger's crew and a survey crew. Hearing stories and songs from local friends and neighbors, Dan has developed a style that captures the spirit of the mountains. more

DAN DUGGAN
Musician, Red Creek, N.Y.

Dan Duggan, nationally touring performer and teacher, is rapidly being acknowledged as one of the finest dulcimer players and composers in the country. As recipient of the prestigious National Hammered Dulcimer Championship, Dan's accomplishment, though based on technical merit, is even more considerable as he is the first winner to have performed all original compositions. more

CELIA EVANS
Musician, Paul Smiths, N.Y.

Celia Evans and her songs find a home in the rural and forested landscapes of rocky, wet, northern places. The lyrics tend to be rich in images that link the natural beauty of landscape and the people who inhabit them to whatever else she happens to be singing about. more

PEGGY LYNN
Musician, Red Creek, N.Y.

Peggy Lynn, singer, songwriter and arts educator brings an infectious enthusiasm to all her endeavors. With a sultry, yet powerful alto voice, Peggy gives a clear message of the passion underlying her songs. While her style and range give meaning and feeling to all her work, her most powerful message, her passion, is for the contributions and burdens of women. Peggy ranges from folksy to blues with equal ease, alone or harmonizing with others. more

JAMIE SAVAGE
Musician, Piercefield, N.Y.

Jamie Savage began writing songs soon after he started playing guitar at the age of 16. While a student at Paul Smith’s College in the early 1980’s, Jamie played rhythm guitar and sang lead vocals for a college rock n roll band called “Easy Street.” In the mid-1980s, Jamie teamed up with folksinger Peggy Lynn to perform traditional and original folk songs around the Central New York area. more
